These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Silicon Dreams Video Converter website and service (the “Service”), operated by Silicon Dreams (“Silicon Dreams”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

The Service lets you submit the URL of a publicly available video on YouTube or Facebook, and receive a copy in a format such as MP4, WEBM, MKV, AVI, MP3, M4A or WAV. The copy is made by our server, which downloads the video, converts it and sends you the file. The Service is provided free of charge, as a technical tool, for your personal and lawful use. We may add, change or remove features, formats, limits (such as maximum video length or file size) or supported websites at any time.

2. No account required

You do not need to register, sign in or provide personal details to use the Service. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use the Service, and if you are under the age of majority you should use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service to infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or any other rights of any person;
  • download, convert or distribute content that is unlawful, harmful, sexually exploitative of minors, or that you know you are not permitted to copy;
  • circumvent or attempt to circumvent technical protection measures, paywalls, private-video settings, age gates or geographic restrictions;
  • overload, scrape, automate requests to, reverse engineer or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure, or exceed the usage limits we set;
  • resell, re-host or offer the Service to others as your own product without our written permission.

4. Copyright & your responsibility

Use the Service only for content that you own, that you have the rights holder’s permission to download, or that is licensed for reuse (for example, under a Creative Commons licence or in the public domain).

You are solely responsible for the URLs you submit, for confirming that you have the right to download and convert the content, and for how you use any resulting files. Silicon Dreams does not host, index, select, edit or review the content you convert, and does not grant you any rights in that content. Downloading content may also be restricted by the terms of service of the platform where it is published; it is your responsibility to comply with those terms.

5. Copyright complaints

We respect intellectual property rights. If you believe the Service is being used to infringe your copyright, please contact us at silicondreams4@gmail.com with: (a) identification of the copyrighted work; (b) the URL(s) concerned; (c) your contact details; (d) a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised; and (e) a statement, under penalty of perjury where applicable, that the information is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act for the owner. We may block specific URLs, channels or users in response to valid notices.

6. Third-party platforms

YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC and Facebook is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc. Silicon Dreams is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Google, YouTube, Meta or Facebook. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy or legality of content on third-party websites, and those websites may change in ways that stop the Service from working.

7. Our intellectual property

The Silicon Dreams name, logo, website design, text and software are owned by Silicon Dreams or its licensors and are protected by law. Except for the limited right to use the Service under these Terms, no rights are granted to you.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy or uninterrupted availability. We do not guarantee that every video can be converted, or that converted files will be free of errors.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Silicon Dreams and its owners, employees and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, or from any content you download. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed USD 50 (or the equivalent in your local currency). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Silicon Dreams from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, the content you convert, or your breach of these Terms or of any third party’s rights.

11. Suspension of access

We may limit, block or suspend access to the Service, from any IP address or network, at any time and without notice, including if we reasonably believe these Terms are being breached or the Service is being abused.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the Service after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dibrugarh, Assam, except where applicable consumer-protection law gives you the right to bring proceedings in your place of residence.
